Ueno Park

The experience

A public park on former temple land next to Ueno Station, containing over 1,000 cherry trees, the lotus-covered Shinobazu Pond with rowboat and swan-boat rental, and Ueno Zoo. Several national museums sit inside the grounds, including the Tokyo National Museum. The park itself is free to enter; the zoo and museums charge separately.
