A historic osteria on Via Panisperna in the Monti district, dating to 1906 when it served the neighbourhood's coal sellers. It's known for its namesake carbonara plus cacio e pepe and Roman artichokes, with rotating daily specials, in a warm, cramped room whose walls are covered in decades of customer graffiti. Open Monday to Saturday with an afternoon closure.
