This museum is the former home of Jim Thompson, an American who revived the Thai silk industry after founding the Thai Silk Company in 1948. His house, completed in 1959, is made of six traditional teak buildings collected from around Thailand and reassembled beside a canal, filled with his Southeast Asian art collection. Thompson vanished without trace in the Malaysian jungle in 1967, and the house has been kept as he left it.
