Also called Filopappou, this pine-covered hill directly southwest of the Acropolis is crowned by the 2nd-century Philopappos Monument. Marble and dirt paths laid out by architect Dimitris Pikionis wind past the church of Agios Dimitrios and rocky outcrops, opening onto some of the finest head-on views of the Acropolis and out toward Piraeus and the sea.
The best free, head-on view of the Acropolis, especially at golden hour.
