A riverside garden in the modern Parque das Nações district, on the former Expo 98 grounds along the Tagus. Named for the 16th-century naturalist Garcia de Orta, it is planted as themed sections evoking lands reached by Portuguese explorers, with exotic species, a dragon tree and bird-of-paradise among them. Flat, open and dotted with sculpture, it runs beside the waterfront promenade and is free to enter.
A breezy, level riverfront garden that pairs a Tagus walk with plants from Portugal's old trade routes.
