A temple people come back to · Yeongju, South Korea

A 676 AD Silla-era temple stacked up the slope of Sobaeksan, crowned by Muryangsujeon — one of Korea's oldest wooden halls — and the legendary 'floating stone' beside it. From the top terraces, grey tiled rooftops cascade toward layered mountain horizons.
UNESCO-listed yet far from any KTX city, it draws a fraction of the crowds of Bulguksa — buses from Punggi run infrequently and foreign visitors are rare.
