One of Korea's top private art museums, in the hillside Hannam-dong district and run by the Samsung Foundation. Its two main buildings — designed by Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhaas — pair a collection of traditional Korean art, ceramics and calligraphy with modern and contemporary works. The permanent collection is free with a timed reservation; special exhibitions are ticketed, and it is closed Mondays.
A quietly luxurious museum where three of the world's great architects frame everything from Joseon celadon to contemporary installation, on a calm hillside away from the tourist core.
