The 19th-century canal director's house on the Canal de l'Ourcq, left abandoned and then reopened in 2015 by Sinny & Ooko as a 'tiers-lieu' cafe. Its upstairs rooms are furnished like someone's flat — you drink your coffee in a bedroom or bathroom of the old house — with home cooking, natural wines and homemade pastries downstairs.
The rare Paris cafe where taking a book upstairs and staying three hours is the intended use.
