Somewhere to stop moving · Tokyo, Japan
A bathhouse founded in 1934 and rebuilt in April 2015 after a year-long renovation, three minutes' walk from Nippori station. It has five waters: a high-concentration carbonated bath held around 39°C, an outdoor 'silky' microbubble bath, a jet and electric bath, a hot bath near 43°C and a cold plunge, all fed with softened water. Draft beer is poured in the lobby afterwards.
The owners spent the renovation budget on the water rather than the decor, and it shows.
