A view worth the climb · Taipei, Taiwan
A 116-metre single-span footbridge on the ridge above Neihu, built with a purple dragon-spine truss and hung across the Baishihu valley beside the Bishanyan temple complex. Bishanyan Kaizhang Shengwang Temple dates from 1751, sits on the slope at the far end and gives one of the widest free panoramas of the whole Taipei basin. The lanes around the bridge are orchard and strawberry-farm country, with a pond and several smaller temples on the loop, and there is a donation-basis coffee area under the temple. Allow about two hours for the bridge, the terrace and the farm path.
A dragon-backed footbridge, a 1751 temple terrace over the entire basin, and pick-your-own strawberry fields on one Neihu ridge.
