A densely wooded scientific garden of about 4 hectares in Príncipe Real, laid out from 1858 and tied to the University of Lisbon's National Museum of Natural History. It descends the hillside on shaded paths past palms, cycads, ferns and figs, with hidden lakes, bridges and statues along the way. It keeps a notable cycad and palm collection and charges a small admission.
A steep, jungly pocket of old-growth planting hidden behind the Príncipe Real streets.
