A 117-metre arcade opened in 1825 between rue Saint-Denis and rue Dussoubs, re-roofed around 1845 with a metal-framed glass canopy that floods light down to the shopfronts. Today it houses craft workshops, jewellery designers, decorators and small studios rather than chain retail.
The passage where things are still made — workrooms behind the windows, not souvenir racks.
