An izakaya wedged directly under the Yamanote Line viaduct at Yurakucho, trading since the 1940s and now run by Englishman Andy Lunt, who married into the founding family. The kitchen buys market seafood daily; sashimi, grilled fish, king crab and tempura are the core of it, and trains rumble overhead all night.
A genuine Showa-era track-side izakaya where the host speaks English and will actually explain the fish to you.
