The experience

A Baiuca is a tiny Alfama tavern on Rua de São Miguel where fado vadio, the amateur, community form of fado, has been sung since the late 1990s. Singers perform without microphones or spotlights while a simple menu of grilled fish and cod is served at packed shared tables. The room is small, intimate and defiantly old-fashioned.
