A village worth the long drive · Amphawa, Thailand

A small canal market where elderly vendors still paddle wooden boats of fruit, noodles and coconut sugar for local shoppers — one of the last floating markets Thais genuinely still use. Runs on lunar-calendar days and weekend mornings.
Locals actually shop here — unlike the tour-bus circuits at Damnoen Saduak.
It's only worth the detour Nov–Feb. Turn up outside that window and you're looking at a different place; we'd rather say so than sell you the photo.
