The experience
A dense warren of alleys on the Thonburi riverbank beside Siriraj Hospital, reached by cross-river ferry from Tha Chang. Narrow lanes are packed with noodle shops, curry-over-rice stalls, boat noodles, chicken rice and fried snacks, plus cheap clothes and knick-knacks. It draws students and hospital staff far more than tourists, keeping prices low.
A genuinely local riverside food maze, cheaper and less touristed than the Bangkok-side markets.
