The experience
A river of date palms threads a red-rock canyon 30 km southeast of Tafraoute, with pisé Amazigh hamlets stacked against the cliff and springwater running through the gardens.
The Anti-Atlas sees a fraction of the High Atlas's traffic — the gorge is a locals' picnic spot and cyclists' reward, not a coach stop.
