The oldest barrio in Buenos Aires, San Telmo keeps cobblestone streets, colonial and belle-epoque buildings and a bohemian, multicultural feel. Antique shops, cafes and tango cluster around Plaza Dorrego, and on Sundays the Feria de San Telmo antiques market floods Defensa Street with stalls, buskers and impromptu tango on the plaza.
It is the city's most atmospheric quarter for wandering, antiques and street tango.
