The largest Baroque fountain in Rome, designed by Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762 at the terminus of an ancient aqueduct. A theatrical wall of travertine frames the sea god Oceanus riding a shell chariot drawn by tritons and sea horses. Tradition holds that a coin tossed over the shoulder ensures a return to Rome.
To see Rome's most exuberant Baroque theatre in stone and water, day or floodlit at night.
