The experience
A speakeasy hidden behind the facade of an old movie theatre on Hankou Street in Ximending, reached through an unmarked door with a small button beside it. Inside, the cocktail list is built around Taiwanese ingredients and Chinese teas, with a kitchen sending out sharp bar plates rather than snacks. It opens in the evening and runs past 1:30am, later on Fridays and Saturdays. The room has been renovated since it opened, so the theatre gimmick is subtler than it once was.
