Opened in 1894, Confeitaria Colombo is Rio's grandest Belle Epoque cafe, set in a landmark hall of rosewood-framed Belgian crystal mirrors, marble tables and a stained-glass skylight. It serves coffee, pastries and traditional sweets, plus a full lunch. A living piece of carioca history in the heart of downtown, popular with locals and tourists alike.
A 130-year-old Belle Epoque cafe that's as much a monument as a place to eat.
