A Woodhaven corner bar that has poured since 1829 and claims continuous operation ever since, Prohibition included. It came within three days of shutting in January 2020 over a rent hike before the city and the Queens Chamber of Commerce brokered a deal and a $90,000 grant. Mae West is said to have danced here as a child, and roughly 14% of Goodfellas was shot inside. Owner Loycent Gordon is an FDNY lieutenant, and the kitchen turns out burgers, wings and nachos to a genuinely local room.
