A market the neighbourhood still uses · Seoul, South Korea

A working traditional market in Mapo-gu where locals actually do their shopping, tucked behind the Mangridan-gil restaurant strip. Stalls sell dakgangjeong (double-fried glazed chicken), tteokbokki, hotteok, croquettes, kkwabaegi twisted donuts and grilled tteokgalbi patties. Lively but not overwhelming, more everyday than spectacle.
Street-food quality on par with Gwangjang but eaten among residents instead of tour groups.
