An island worth the crossing · Seoul, South Korea

A small island in the Han River that was once an abandoned water-purification plant, rebuilt as one of Korea's first recycling eco-parks. The old concrete filtration basins are kept as ivy-wrapped garden rooms, linked by water gardens, walkways and a story hall on the site's history. No cars, bicycles or smoking are allowed on the island.
A quiet, unusual industrial-ruin garden with some of the best Han River sunset views in the city.
