Eight islets stitched together by hairline canals where Ashtamudi Lake meets the Kallada River — punted canoes slip under low footbridges past coir-spinners, prawn farms and mangrove tunnels.
Kerala's houseboat crowds steam past to Alleppey; only narrow village canoes fit these canals.
