A small, sheltered cove beach of coarse reddish sand tucked between Sugarloaf and Morro da Urca in the calm Urca neighbourhood. Backed by the Claudio Coutinho trail into Atlantic forest, its still, shallow water and military-area setting make it one of Rio's safest and quietest beaches, especially on weekdays. Views reach up to the Sugarloaf cable car.
