The retail lanes that stayed in Tsukiji after the wholesale auctions moved to Toyosu in 2018 — several hundred stalls and small shops selling fish, knives, dried goods, tea and produce alongside standing counters. You eat as you walk: tamagoyaki on a skewer, grilled scallops and unagi, uni and ikura donburi, tuna sushi at counters with queues. It is compact, loud and shoulder-to-shoulder by mid-morning.
The densest concentration of eat-on-your-feet seafood in Tokyo, still supplied by working fishmongers.
