A landmark that earns the queue · Tbilisi, Georgia
The Bridge of Peace is a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge of steel and glass spanning the Mtkvari River, linking Rike Park with the Old Town. Designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi with French lighting designer Philippe Martinaud, it opened in 2010. Its curving glass canopy carries thousands of LEDs that pulse in programmed patterns after dark.
Tbilisi's signature modern landmark and the most photographed crossing on the river.
