Somewhere to stop moving · New York, United States
An Italian-run day spa on Andes Road on Governors Island, in restored buildings a short walk from the ferry landing, arranged over several floors of saunas, thermal baths, a salt cave, infrared rooms and outdoor pools that look straight at the Lower Manhattan skyline. It opens 9am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday and to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and most visitors stay about four hours. Because the island has no bridge, every visit is bracketed by a boat.
The only spa in New York you reach by ferry, soaking in hot water with the skyline you are escaping laid out across the harbour.
