A view worth the climb · Seoul, South Korea

A gentle 295m ridge on Seoul's far eastern side, crowned by the stone ruins of Achasanseong, a 5th-century Baekje fortress. Easy, well-graded trails climb from the Achasan Station side in under an hour to a sunrise plaza and open summit. Because it faces east it catches the earliest sunrise in the city, and is the site of an annual New Year's sunrise gathering.
The easiest big-view hike in Seoul, sweeping from Lotte World Tower round to Namsan and Bukhansan.
