The Museum of Modern Art, opened in 1948 and housed in Affonso Eduardo Reidy's landmark 1950s Modernist pavilion in Flamengo Park, holds one of Brazil's major modern-art collections. Set in gardens designed by Roberto Burle Marx beside Guanabara Bay, it shows Brazilian and international painting, sculpture, photography and film across changing exhibitions.
