The only royal castle in the Americas, perched on a hill in Chapultepec park and reached by a walk up through the forest. Since 1939 it has housed the National Museum of History, with period rooms, murals by Orozco and Siqueiros, stained glass and terraced gardens. Its ramparts give sweeping views back over Paseo de la Reforma.
A hilltop castle-museum you climb to on foot, ending with free panoramic terraces over the city.
