Museum Siam is a discovery museum opened in 2007 inside a neoclassical former Ministry of Commerce building designed by the Italian architect Mario Tamagno in the 1920s. Its permanent exhibition, "Decoding Thainess", uses interactive rooms and video to ask what it means to be Thai, tracing the country's history from Suvarnabhumi onward. It is one of the more playful and modern museums in the old city.
A hands-on, well-designed museum that unpacks Thai identity rather than just displaying objects.
