The experience
One of Bangkok's oldest temples, rebuilt by King Rama I from 1788 on an earlier site, Wat Pho holds the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand. Its centrepiece is a 46-metre-long gilded reclining Buddha with mother-of-pearl inlaid feet, added during the reign of Rama III. The temple is also regarded as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, and a working massage school still operates on the grounds.
