A table worth the trip · Marrakech, Morocco
A small room on Rue Azbezt in the medina where a group of local women cook one thing a day and everybody in the place eats it. There is no menu and no choosing: the platter arrives heaped for sharing, usually chicken and vegetables under ras el hanout with caramelised onions piled in the middle, and mint tea, water and pastries come with it. A vegetarian version costs the same. Open daily from noon until late evening.
Home cooking with no menu and no choices — one dish a day, cooked by the women who run the room, eaten off a shared platter.
