The experience
A Colombian-run bar and music room at 40-19 Gleane Street on the Jackson Heights/Elmhurst line, where the stage hangs on wires above the bar and wooden bleachers wrap around it. Owner Freddy Castiblanco programmes Afro-Colombian, Afro-Peruvian and Afro-Cuban music, Latin jazz, bolero, salsa and timba, plus readings, film screenings and workshops. It is open every day from 4pm to 4am with music almost every night from 8pm.
The best Afro-Latin music room in New York, and it is a Queens neighbourhood bar.
