A trail people talk about · Taipei, Taiwan
A 1.1 km brick-and-concrete path across the tea terraces on the Maokong ridge, laid almost entirely without steps so anyone can walk it. It threads past restored rammed-earth houses, a refurbished charcoal kiln, a farm pond, an ox-cart sculpture and rows of Baozhong oolong bushes, with the Taipei basin dropping away below. It links with the Zhanghu Trail into an easy loop of under an hour that children and grandparents both finish. The trailhead is a few minutes' walk from the top station of the Maokong Gondola.
Taipei's tea country on a flat, stepless path you step straight onto from the gondola.
