A gallery off the main route · Taipei, Taiwan
A contemporary art space opened on 26 May 2001 inside the 1921 Jiancheng Elementary School, a red-brick Japanese-era building that served as Taipei City Hall until the government moved out in 1994. It was Taiwan's first publicly owned, privately run museum of contemporary art. There is no permanent collection — the programme is entirely temporary exhibitions through the front wing's old classrooms, and a visit takes under an hour.
Taiwan's first contemporary art museum, in a schoolhouse that was also the city's town hall.
