The experience

A rechao — Taiwan's working-class stir-fry-and-beer house — at 68 Leli Road in Da'an, the format Taipei actually eats and drinks in late at night. Wok dishes come out fast and cheap: smoky beef, kung pao chicken, clams, squid, pork liver, stir-fried bitter melon with salted egg yolk. Beer arrives by the bottle and the room gets loud on purpose. Service runs from 5pm to 1am daily.

The stir-fry-and-beer house locals actually book, not a night market and not a bar.
