A table people book ahead for · Taipei, Taiwan
A stall inside the Huaxi Street market in Wanhua, trading since 1975 under the name 小王清湯瓜仔肉 before it was refitted and rebranded as Wang's Broth in 2019. It is known for a braised pork rice locals call 'black gold' — a deep, dark, almost lacquered glaze over fatty pork — plus thick slabs of braised pork belly with chewy skin, and the steamed minced-pork-and-pickled-cucumber broth the shop was originally named for. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and sits a few minutes' walk from Longshan Temple. Closed Tuesdays.
The braised pork rice Taipei argues about, still cooked at a night-market stall a short walk from Longshan Temple.
