A temple people come back to · Taipei, Taiwan
Founded in 1787 by Anxi immigrants to house incense carried from Qingshui Rock in Fujian, finished by 1790 and rebuilt in 1817 after typhoon damage. One of Wanhua's "big three" temples alongside Longshan and Tianhou, it keeps mid-Qing carpentry the other two have lost. It sits at the end of a lane of old houses on Kangding Road, a few minutes north of Longshan Temple station, and opens daily from 6am to 9pm.
Wanhua's third great temple, with 617 reviews to Longshan's forty-eight thousand.
