A hilltop quarter of the 13th named for Pierre Caille, who bought a vineyard here in 1543. The Bièvre river that powered its tanneries was covered over in 1860, and the low-built streets kept a village scale that now draws a young local crowd to its bars while staying largely off tourist routes.
