A market hall built in 1935 on Sanshui Street in Wanhua, laid out in a distinctive horseshoe plan and designated a Taipei historic site in 2006. Restored by the JUT Foundation and reopened as U-mkt, it now combines exhibitions, workshops and small shops with the traditional food stalls and produce trade that never left. There is a shared, air-conditioned dining area where you eat whatever you have just bought. It sits a few minutes from Longshan Temple and opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm.
