Wat Suthat Thepwararam is a first-class royal temple begun by King Rama I in 1807 and completed under Rama III, known for its towering viharn and unusually well-preserved wall murals. Directly in front of the temple stands the Giant Swing (Sao Chingcha), a tall red teak frame that once hosted a Brahmin swinging ceremony. The surrounding streets are lined with shops selling monk's robes and religious paraphernalia.
A grand, uncrowded temple with some of Bangkok's finest murals, framed by the landmark red swing.
