The experience

A Sheepshead Bay fast-food landmark on Emmons Avenue, going since 1964, all brown tile, orange seating and unreconstructed 1970s signage. Roast beef is sliced thin onto soft rolls with natural pan gravy, cooked rare, medium or well to order, and the house religion is 'cheez' — a molten cheese sauce that can go on the beef, on the fries, on anything you ask. It runs late, to 1am on weeknights and 2am on Friday and Saturday.
