A table worth the trip · Marrakech, Morocco
A Moroccan restaurant at 55 Boulevard Mohamed Zerktouni run entirely by women — the Chaab sisters front of house, female chefs in the kitchen — cooking the Fassi repertoire of Fez rather than generic tourist Moroccan. Meals open with a parade of small salads and mezze and build to the slow-cooked lamb shoulder and the pumpkin-and-lamb tagine. The dining room is furnished more like a wealthy family's salon than a restaurant, and unusually for a Moroccan kitchen in Gueliz, there is a wine list. Closed Tuesdays.
Fez cooking in a women-run dining room that has been the Marrakchi benchmark for a special dinner for decades.
